The Top End and Red Center

I have just returned from an amazing 10 days in Australia’s Outback Northern Territory, sponsored by Newmans Vacations, Australian Specialists. I was lucky to be shown many of the wonderful and exciting experiences this part of Australia has to offer.

Newman’s South Pacific Vacations – A dedicated South Pacific wholesaler with over 127 years of experience in selling the South Pacific, hosted a group of more than 40 US travel agents to Australia last month as part of an incentive tour called Newman's Amazing Adventure. The Amazing Adventure consisted of four tailored itineraries throughout Australia covering Queensland, Northern Territory, Victoria and South Australia.

I took what was a fantastic trip to the Northern Territory – Top End and Red Center of Australia. From Jumping Crocs to Sunrise over Ayers Rock. My absolute favorites to beat it all was hiking the rim of Kings Canyon and the wonderful Sounds of Firelight gourmet dinner.

Twice the size of California, yet with only two hundred thousand inhabitants, it's not surprising that Australia's Northern Territory represents wilderness on a grand scale!

There is no greater haven than the Northern Territory for those looking to make a connection with nature. This is a place that ebbs and flows with the seasons, a place of contrast and color, where change is the only constant. Home to awe-inspiring iconic wonders - the World Heritage parks of Kakadu and Uluru-Kata Tjuta (Ayers Rock), with flora and fauna as diverse as desert blooms are to lotus lilies and fearsome saltwater crocodile living in harmony with brolgas and barramundi.
